Hi Morningstar
I have a crowded small pedalboard but I have space for a 1-button switch which I plan to select preset L.
In the aux switch wiring where it switches T, R and T+R to sleeve, which connection/exp selects presets G, H, I and J, K, L?
Is it something like the below?
Exp 1:
Tip: G
Ring: H
Tip + ring: I
Exp 2:
Tip: J
Ring: K
Tip + ring: L
Cheers
Edo
Hi Edo,
Here are the connections:
Exp 1:
Tip = G
Ring = H
T + R = K
Exp2:
Tip = I
Ring = J
T + R = L
Thanks James!
James, can I get clarification on this? I've set up a three pedal switch, and all works as above, except the T + R does not change the preset to K. Do you mean to have a switch combine T + R, or do you meant to have the switch press short both T and R to ground? Is there documentation for this wiring anywhere besides in this forum. Thanks. I'm loving the pedal by the way. Great work on this.
Hey mwinckler,
For presets in question (K and L) you want to connect both the Tip and the Ring (T+R) to the Sleeve (S) when that switch is pressed. This will mostly require diodes or a DPDT so that the T and the R are only combined when the swithes for K and L are pressed. Otherwise if you are just using SPST switches and a TRS jack every switch will end up combining T+R through the switch for K (and L).
Hope that helps.
Thanks very much, DySyD. I appreciate your help. I contacted James with an email, and he sent me this diagram of the use of diodes as you describe-
Nice. That will do it!
