Considering purchasing MC6. I have a Q about the UI. The manual says that "Each preset can be programmed to send out 16 different messages", it does not say how, but my guess is that 8 actions X 2 positions = 16 messages... correct? Now the preset receives only one name in the interface, say, SHIMMER. Yet, it can send 16 different messages, which can be about shimmer or about something totally different. This is confusing. I can programme a SHIMMER patch on BigSky with a short press action. Fine. But a longer press can be programmed to a CLOUD reverb. Yet the preset is still called SHIMMER on the UI... Am I missing something? Thanks for clarification!

"Each preset can be programmed to send out 16 different messages"... all under the same preset name? This seems confusing.

Each Preset can send as many as sixteen different messages via one of ten different actions, each action enabling one of twenty two message types.

Sure, you could, but you probably wouldn't. Wouldn't you use a different button (Preset) to enable the CLOUD?
Thanks. Thats why I was puzzled. There are only 6 buttons. What’s the point of all those dozens of messages per button then? Who’s going to remember what they do if the damn button has got only one name? The device looks promising but the UI fails totally, if what you say is correct...
You would probably only use 1 to 3 messages per button (Preset).
Each button can have two names. If you wanted to use one button to toggle between Shimmer and Cloud, you could do that. And each of the two toggle positions could have it's own (8 character) name.
The desktop Editor App UI is great.
I see, thanks. Difficult to understand why they boast so much about the 16 messages capability then.
@cfibanez1 this is actually THE feature on this unit. Sometimes you dont only want to change a preset on lets say a BigSky. You also want to change the preset on a Timeline, an EQ and a bypass looper. In this case you will need a larger number of messages to be sent with one click. I am using the MC6 in that way. With one click i can change the whole state of the pedalboard, 4-5 devices at once. It is there to prevent tap-dancing on your pedalboard.
