Hello, I've got an issue... I have a preset where my expression pedal controls the volume on a midi pedal. The volume control works but when i change preset is like it "reads" the pedal on heel down and not the real expression pedal position, how can I avoid it?
Thank you!
I‘ve read your post a number of times and am still not clear on what you mean. When you say you change a preset are you talking about a MC6 preset. If I change a preset on the MC6 the expression pedal position is certainly maintained. It’s even reflected in the readout on the MC6. A more detailed description could help.
I use the expression to control the volume on the chase bliss condor. If I have the pedal active in 2 patches on the MC and i switch between them, is like the pedal goes every time to zero
Thank you however and sorry for my english! ;)
Hi Daniel, I apologize if I’m being picky but we need to agree on terms because we are using words to communicate :) I’m not sure what you mean by a patch. The MC6 terminology as used in the manual is where a Bank is made up of a number of Switch Presets (SP), where each preset is associated with a particular switch, e.g. A-F, and is made up of a number of messages. There are 2 Expression Pedal Presets (EPP), again made up of a set of messages, and each EPP is associated with one of the 2 physical ports on the back of the MC6.
If the terminology works for you can you use it to describe your scenario. Using something like:
Bank-1, Bank-2, ... SP-A, SP-B, ... EPP-1, EPP-2
Are the patches you refer to Bank-1, Bank-2 or SP-A, SP-B for example.
Ok, thank you for your patience!
Expression Pedal connected to EXP1 on the MC6 The MC6 send Midi (midi channel 3) to a ML5 and a Midi Pedal (Chase Bliss Condor)
We 're inside the same Bank, so assume Bank 1 In two different Switch Preset I send the same Midi Command to the Chase Bliss The EPP is setted to control the volume, so CC#16 min value 0, max value 127 on midi channel 3 The only thing that changes between the 2 Switch Preset is the loops activated inside the ML5 so SP-A -> Loop 1 ON - Loop 4 (Chase Bliss Condor) ON SP-B -> Loop 2 ON - Loop 4 ON When I switch between them the volume always go to zero and i need to move the expression pedal.
OK, a ML5 is part of the picture. I don’t have a ML5 so I‘m not sure but I think your problem is somehow related to an interaction between it and the Condor. One thing I noticed in the ML5 FAQ section of the manual is there is reference to muting and wonder if the issue is related to it. The link highlighted takes you to a section of the manual where muting is more completely described. I may well be wrong on this but think it worth a try. .
“My ML5 mutes when switching.
This is part of the Muted Switching feature to remove the occurrence of pops for certain pedals (usually pedals using a voltage charge pump). The feature can be toggled ON or OFF by holding down Switch D before powering up.”
I would look at this and see if it has any effect. Other than that maybe someone with ML5 knowledge can chip in or you could use Morningstar help and ask there and point them to this thread for a problem description. I think your last post gives a much clearer sense of what the scenario looks like. Maybe you can update this thread as you go along to keep us abreast of how things progress.
@DeSelby No sorry, I think I confused you, the ML5 is setted without time in switching._ The pedal volume goes to zero even if it's outside the ML5
