I'm using my MC6 with a Voodoo lab Hex. I've set up a few presets as IAs so that they correspond to exactly one loop on the Hex (with toggle on/off behavior). Similarly, I've programmed other switches as IA's for MIDI capable pedals such as the Specular Tempus and Mobius.
I like being able to use a mix of tap dancing and programmable presets. I find that during rehearsals etc, it's good to be able to easily experiment with pedals and sounds without having to program a preset. When it comes time to doing a show, single-click presets are the way to go.
So I was hoping that the Set/Clear toggle feature would allow me to build MC6 presets in a way that I could easily pick and choose on/off states of each of my IA programmed presets regardless of the implementation details behind each IA. However, I'm realizing that that's not how set/clear works. It looks like this action only changes the state of the switch, but does not cause the corresponding set of midi messages to be sent out.
So with my current understanding, that effectively means, for every preset I want to program on top of my IAs, I'd have to do both Set/Clear for each IA, as well as copy all the MIDI messages behind them for each preset. This isn't ideal for a number of reasons, so I'm wondering if there's a better way to do what I'd like to accomplish? I'm still pretty new to the MC6 (not new to MIDI programming though) so I'm guessing that I'm just missing what the normal workflow is for the MC6.
